Seeking Perspectives of Indigenous Peoples with Chronic Kidney Disease
Purpose: This poster shows that Indigenous peoples are more likely than non-Indigenous people to be affected by chronic conditions, including kidney disease, increasing their chances of taking a lot of medications.
We want to learn from Indigenous peoples with chronic kidney disease in Canada about their experiences with managing their medications, including:
taking and managing medications (successes and challenges)
coping with changes to medications (successes and challenges)
what would make medication use easier (for example: educational materials or support from healthcare providers).
This may reveal ways to improve medication management among Indigenous peoples with kidney disease. We will use Indigenous perspectives on these topics to improve our research.
